Founded by Margaret Yuen in 1985, the Red Silk Dancers present a repertoire of traditional and contemporary Chinese classical and folk dance. Through concerts, lecture demonstrations, and residency workshops, the company has presented over 1,000 programs throughout the NY metropolitan region and the Eastern United States. The company's 2006 benefit concert made possible the building of a dormitory for rural schoolchildren in Guangxi, China, through the Hong Kong based Children Education Fund.
